That's the only project of this week as I'm heading tomorrow to sunny Italy. I know it's not the peak of the season, but comparing to Finland (-11 at the moment), +14-18 degrees will do the trick :-D

Hyvää hiihtolomaa! Ahoy!

Men-friendly gift

Valentine's Day has been already 2 weeks ago but just now I had time to look at the picture of the gift I made for Mr. Special ;-) What I did is self-made box (took me three trials to come out with satysfying size and outcome, didn't have any tutorial). In addition, I have bought earlier a silicon heart-shaped form and preapred some pralines from melted chocolate. As far as i remember the following tastes were: white chocolate + mint, white chocolate + dry cranberry, milk chocolate with almond, dark chocolate with crashed maringue, orange taste chocolate and triple chcolate. Here's how it looked :-)

My first shadow box

This week I made my first shadow box. At the beginning it was supposed to be a postcard for my workmate Minna, but then I started thinking how to personalize it and I followed my first thought- Shakespeare's theatre, since Minna is an English language philologist She received the work anyways :-)

Also got bit inspired by Anuszka's work, dziekuje :-)

P.S. I tried to play with the new layout of the blog but apparently it's all against me. Can't adjust the background background which I wish (there's 40 shades of pink and no red :-( ) so I'll have a break for a while and I'll come back to it later, so I don't loose my nerves totally ;-) Any ideas?

Onnea uuteen kotiin!

Judyta, Taito and their mopsi Nala had yesterday their house-warming party. Cheerful postcard went along perfectly with the mood of the evening :-) Thanks for the night guys!

The card is an "easel" type. Just google "easel card template" and you'll get some tips how to do it. Otherwise i used some stamps and Distress crackle paint to get the icy effect on the roof. And I sanded the paper to give a house some Tampere-red-brick-building character :-)

Kiitos :-)

Next few months will be quite critical in my life: ending thesis and school (hopefully...), getting serious job (hopefully too...), saying byes and thank-yous to many people who helped me in my personal development. I'd like to thank them all somehow, so why not by a card? Here's the first one, surely many more to come!

Btw, I hope you had a good time on Valentine's Day or Friendship Day as it is in Finland, because why wouldn't we love our friends too? Especially as a foreigner abroad where friends are as valuable as family :-) HUGS!

Red Bull gives you wings ;-)

I just decided to have a little break from my thesis writing. As you may guess, I'm trying to get some power from an energy drink, and suddenly came to my mind that I didn't post one of my most favourite work that I've ever done. I still reaaaally like it. Generally, I love everything that has wings: birds, angels.... and redbull too ;-) Cheers!

So here's the outcome of yesterday's shopping with Kristin, I bought the reversible paper and Distress Crackle Paint (clear rock candy) which you can see on the "smile" sign. The project is an answer for the challenge #17 at Scrapujace Polki. The card feels like spring even though we have in Tampere -24C at the moment... :-)
